“Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. It’s clear that the mind begins to predict the word based on its prior use and thus almost “mindlessly” goes through the motions while skipping all the minute details that make up language. We observe other people using the same process of mindless assumption. We observe the front and the back of an individual and then conclude the interior without precedent.
A book can be broken down into chapters and then paragraphs, sentences, phrases, words and then single letters. We routinely skip the fundamentals of language such as; lexical units, consonants, lemma’s, stems, free morphemes, bound morphemes, inflectional endings and compounds. Having no understanding whatsoever of how these language particles cooperate to produce coherent speech does not stop us from communicating with one another.
People can be broken down into Hydrogen, Oxygen and Carbon, the rest are trace elements. If you assume the average human weighs 70 kg’s, then it would contain 7*1027 atoms. That is 7 followed by 27 zeros. Of that, 4.7*1027 would be hydrogen atoms, which have one proton and one electron each. Another 1.8*1027 would be oxygen, which has 8 protons, 8 neutrons and 8 electrons. There are 7.0*1026 carbon atoms, which have 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons.
Protons are further broken down into hadrons, which include quarks (up-quarks, down-quarks, charm-quarks, anti-quarks, etc.). The two types of hadrons are baryons and mesons. This does not include leptons, a family of elementary particles that include electrons, muons, tauons, and neutrinos. This is the physical part of humans that can be observable with the human eyeball albeit using very powerful equipment. It may take 3 X 22 million years to count half of these particles counting one per pico second (the amount of time it takes for light traveling at 186,000 mps to cross a human hair).
There is also another element mysteriously interwoven into both language and particles that we no little about. By placing single letters into a certain format known as a line or sentence we create more than a sequence of letters; “You stupid @#$%& fool! I wish you were never born!” Did you feel that? You must consider the power of words as well as the emotions of people, both of which are scientifically elusive.
Next time you meet with, work with or involve yourself in any way with another human, look for the mystery elements. Respect them, consider them, be careful with them. If we could count, grasp or know the mystery elements and their full impact on civilization, we would shoulder the greatest of responsibility. Pretend you know.
