Have you ever caught yourself being an idiot? Or are you one of those who from all personal perspectives move forward undetected. Over the years I have come to not only understand the cause for idiocy, but also I have embraced its relentless attempts to own me. Here are the typical causes for idiocy listed so that you may avoid its subtle attempts to own you.
Self-preservation – relentless attempts to isolate yourself from the sick truth that you are not all you are cracked up to be. Fear of utter and complete failure – Inner tensions aroused by the sick fact that there are some things in life that you will forever suck at doing. Pride & ego – refusal to acknowledge the fact that you are not the manager of the universe. Insecurity run amuck – When your self-preservation meets your fear of failure and they go on a spending spree.
The cure: The cure for this kind of behavior is found deep within your own soul and it will be found behind the door labeled “the truth about myself.” The cure is not experienced because one reads the sign upon the door, but rather when one opens it and goes in. Once inside this tiny obscure room within you, your clothes will disappear. You will be left utterly naked within this room surrounded by mirrored walls, ceiling and floor.
It is the place of agreement. The cure is found only when you agree with your surroundings when within this room. Once the harmonizing of both opinion and feelings takes place and you have come to an arrangement and terms of surrender, only then will you begin to experience true freedom from being a jerk. Now turn towards the door and place all your defensive weaponry on the floor before leaving. Welcome my dear child… both who you actually are and who you hope to be have kissed and made up.
No longer will you pretend to know the things you don’t. No more will you show secret disdain for those who seemed better equipped for life. No more will you avoid the people who remind you of your weaknesses. You are free to live as I… half blind, bald, under educated, impatient, somewhat insecure and loving it all. The creator loves me just this way! What a beautiful thought! I have positioned myself to have to enter this little room every day… it’s now cozy in there… real.
