Those who are extremely task oriented by nature have the tendency to turn people into projects. Be sensitive to the idea of developing a family as opposed to managing a project. You may not realize it, but they do.

I agree…
Loving God and loving people is certainly our macro mission. However, not everyone is suitable for all projects. So on a micro level I only want people on my project team that are suitable for the accomplishment I have in mind. It is not anti-love to exclude certain individuals from my project team if they are unsuitable due to their lack of talent or poor work ethic or personality friction. If they are willing I could be willing to help them overcome their deficits so that they can become better suited (by directing them to BRG). I think that it is important to differentiate between macro and micro accomplishments.
I like you Paul… that’s great. You know what? It all boils down to loving God & loving people; when our motive is correct, God works out the kinks along the way as we allow him to.
Right you are.
If the measure of your accomplishment is found in the forming relationships rather than any other end goal then your energy can be focused accordingly. In this case any other accomplishment is optional. If accomplishing another goal is not optional then forming relationships becomes incidental.
People can operate either as grease for the wheels or friction. You can either choose ahead of time which kind you want for a project or spend project time trying to grease the friction.
That’s great Patti! All dominants have this tendency… :>)
Great insight. I saw myself in this and decided I owed my teenager an apology. I think I’ve been viewing his path to college as a project that I am managing.Time to put him back into Gods hands and I’ll stick to encouraging rather than managing.
