You are committed to what you confess. This is why we solicit a confession in order to establish guilt and why we confess wedding vows. The absence of confession therefore denotes the absence of commitment. This is why living together is nothing more than “being involved” and thus marriage by definition is being committed.

The dissolving of marriage in our culture today is the tell-tale sign of how uncommitted we are as a Nation. This is why we cannot finish marriages, wars and mortgages.
